The copper cloisonne craftsmanship (see vase by Dan) was beautiful. It was amazing to see the workers actually creating various objects from decor on chopsticks to Christmas ornaments. The vases are the most beautiful. They truly take pride

It was a very chilly day here in Beijing and even colder at the Great Wall, but we kept warm when climbing all the stairs! The mountains are steep. It's amazing to think how workers carried all the stones to build the wall. The characters on the large stone challenge "You aren't a real man until you climb the Great Wall".

We have gotten to know 3 other families all adopting for the 2nd time! Melany and McKenzie(her daughter) sat with us at lunch. They are adopting at 20 month old girl, too! Just from another orphanage. We had a full family style meal complete with fish head still attached to the fish and even french fries served alongside many familiar Chinese dishes. The food has been very good, so far. Many new things to try. Desserts haven't been very sweet. So we munch on our stash of Mn m's once in awhile.
