Jian Yu has lived in an orphanage since she was about a week old. The orphanage is in the city of Jinjiang which is in the Fujian Province near Taiwan. Thus, her surname, "Jiang" which means river was given to her. Yu means jade and Chun is spring. She was born April 10th, 2006. She was born with a cleft lip and palate. Her lip was repaired, and we will complete the cleft palate repair when she is back in the States.

You can look on the map to review your geography!

When we travel to China, we will arrive in Beijing and visit, tour and adjust from jetlag for about 2 days. From there we will fly to the Fujian Province, where we will receive her, usually at the Civil Affairs Bureau. We might be able to visit the new orphanage facilities that is opening this month. After a few days, we will fly to Guangzhou and stay in the famous Swan Hotel for the last part of the trip. We will be there for about 5 days and get all the paperwork, passport, health exam, visa, etc. completed, and just enjoy time in this nice hotel and city. Then we will return home with her as a US citizen, our daughter/sister, and most importantly God's child!
