Leah likes to play. She is especially fond of throwing things. Mom and Dad forgot that detail of the behavior of an almost 2 year old. Leah also enjoys being tickled and swung downward toward the ground. Both were also well received with Keegan, Connor, and Anna. Tickling helps her relax in stressful situations or at bed time. Leah does not speak at all yet. She uses physical cues (hand motions), smiling, and crying to help us understand her feelings and needs. We suspect her lack of babbling and talking is mostly the result of being institutionalized along with the challenge a cleft palate baby has in speaking. We are sure the therapists in Indianapolis will have some good ideas about this.
